History
There are many charitable organizations working in various fields in Maharashtra. But a sensitive subject like organ donation was ignored. Even though the society, which was entangled in the yoke of tradition, did not respond positively to organ donation. Some individuals and organizations who worked impartially and courageously were left alone.
Bringing together all such organizations awaiting guidance and support and bringing together high-ranking activists and office bearers from various reputed service-oriented organizations, Shri. Purushottam Pawar took the initiative. In a meeting of the persons in the field of organ donation, at J. J. Hospital Mumbai he declared the formation of The Federation of Organ and Body Donation on 27 May 2015. The Federation is an associate NGO of ROTTO ( Orgonazination of Govt. Of India) In collaboration with the concerned parties, the Federation is working hard for organ donation all over Maharashtra. But not only for the purpose of propaganda and dissemination, but also for eye donation, skin donation, body donation, organ donation. The activists of the Federation are working hard in various parts of the country by putting up posters, banners, lectures, meetings, rallies and camps. The organisation is working with innovative ideas resulting in enlightening the masses. As a result, the number of organ donations is increasing.
Mission
To bring a situation that no person in the world will die for want of organs.
Vision
Organ Donation should not be a news but an act of routine procedure. And India should be no 1 in the world in the field of Organ Donation and Transplantation.We will achieve our vision and mission by
1) Bringing together all societies , associations, trusts, hospitals companies, indivisual activists interested in Organ and Body Donation ( which also includes blood donation, eye donation, skin donation ) for achieving similar objects under wide area of operation through various common programs in order to make them knowledgeable, trained and active participants on the subjects above.
2) Promoting and assisting in all the ways to the the individuals , firms, associations, societies etc for promotion of organ and body donation and also eye skin and blood donation

3) Collecting , distributing, printing and publishing such books, pamphlets, periodicles and/or newspapers on organ, body, eye, skin and blood donation,
4) Identifying and assesing the problems in the field of organ and body donation and to publicize them through the newspapers magazines and audio visual media or any other media for the knowledge of the society in general.
5) Organising conventions social gatherings small get together lectures seminars and conferences, exhibitions, workshops and camps on the subjects of interest in the field of Organ and Body Donation and give adequate publicity to such programs through print and electronic media.
6) Finding out ways and means to utilise the talent, wisdom, experience, maturity, skill and spare time of the interested activist in the field of Organ and Body Donation.
7) Persuading and pressurising the Government Semi-Govt., and/or Non-government and Administrative agencies of state, regional, district and block levels to implement the provisions of the National and State policies on Organ and Body Donation

8) Affiliating and associating itself with Societies, Associations Federations, Confederations and National and or International Organisation within or outside India having aims and objects similar to these of Federation of Organ and Body Donation.
9) Suggesting and persuading Govt., Semi govt, Corporate, Locai bodies or/and any establishment about any provisions, revisions, implementations and system of procedures in the field of organ and body donation.
10) Creating awareness in the minds of people specially the younger generations and make them aware of the exact procedures, authentic information and a need of time in the field of organ and body donation.
11) Performing all such other acts as may be necessary for or incidental or conducive to the promotion of the organ and body donation.
